Small changes can have large consequences. The idea came to be known as the “butterfly effect” after meteorologist Edward Norton Lorenz suggested that the flap of a butterfly’s wings might ultimately cause a tornado.

Tulenov Ruslan, a Kazakh with the rare Rh-negative blood type referred to as "panda blood",  has donated more than 6,000 milliliters of blood since coming to study in China in 2009.

Ruslan Tulenov works at the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development, part of the efforts to attract investment, engage and serve investors from around the world. In April 2022, he had the opportunity to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to the island province of Hainan.

For Ruslan, the sea represents unprecedented opportunities. At the age of 16, with a yearning for the sea, Ruslan came to this land from his home country, rooted, grew and shaped a life connected with China.
