While an increasingly number of people are replacing computers with iPads, Jeff Somogyi, an editor at deal news, has a list of compelling reasons why an iPad isn’t a better gift than a laptop for a college student — even if the pupil insists.

As the young are about to matriculate, they’ll come at you with all sorts of "reasons" why the iPad is a "valuable tool" for "learning." Are you prepared to fight back?
