Chinese people have been celebrating the Lantern Festival for more than 2,000 years. Throughout history, our ancestors vividly captured the essence of this celebration with many beautiful poetic verses.

While they may look identical when cooked, tangyuan and yuanxiao have a fundamental difference-that is how they are made.

The making of yuanxiao starts with the fillings. Dip them in clear water before diving them into a generous pile of glutinous rice flour. Shake the tray to let the rice flour embrace the moist filling. Repeat this process four to five times, and you will get some big, round, and delightful yuanxiao!

Whether it's the savory joy of meat-filled tangyuan or the sweet delight of yuanxiao, both carry the heartfelt wishes of family reunion.
