Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit the US from February 23-25 amid rising concerns over the security situation in the Korean Peninsula and South China Sea.

　　"We hope that China and the US will arrange high-level exchanges and dialogues in 2016, discuss practical cooperation and the handling of sensitive issues to promote sustainable, healthy and stable growth in bilateral relations," Foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a briefing on Monday.
　　周一的新闻发布会上，外交部发言人华春莹说：“我们希望，2016年，中国和美国可以安排高层次互换和对话，探讨切实可行的合作，处理敏感事件，以促进双边关系持续、健康并且稳定成长。”

　　Responding to looming UN sanctions against North Korea over its missile tests, Hua said "China and the US are expected to exchange views on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue during Wang’s visit."
　　回应即将到来的联合国对朝鲜导弹测试的制裁，华说：“此次访问期间，中国和美国有望就朝鲜半岛核问题交换意见。”

　　The UN Security Council is discussing sanctions against Pyongyang over its recent nuclear test and satellite launch using ballistic missile technology.
　　联合国安全委员会正在探讨，如何制裁平壤最近利用弹道导弹技术进行的核武器测试和卫星发射。

　　China supports the UN Security Council adopting a new and strong resolution against the North while urging relevant parties to avoid actions that could escalate tensions, Hua said.
　　华说，中国支持联合国安全委员会就朝鲜问题采取崭新而强大的决议，同时敦促相关政党避免采取升级紧张局势的行动。

　　When asked about the message China will send to the US on the South China Sea issue, the spokesperson said the US should honor its commitment to remain neutral on competing territorial claims, and to stop playing up the issue or creating tensions.
　　当谈到中国将就南海问题释放的消息时，发言人说，美国应该恪守领土竞争声明承诺，停止夸大问题或者营造紧张局面。

　　Hua added the US is not involved in the South China Sea dispute and the South China Sea issue is not, and should not become, a problem between China and the US. She also called on the US to play a "constructive role" on the issue.
　　华补充道，美国没有卷入南海争议，南海问题不是，也不应该是中美之间的问题。他还呼吁美国在这个问题上扮演一个“建设性的角色”。

　　Hua also criticized the US for hyping the "militarization" of the South China Sea, after two batteries of eight surface-to-air missile launchers as well as a radar system of what appeared to be the HQ-9 missile system were reportedly deployed on Yongxing Island.
　　继美国报道永兴岛似乎部署HQ-9导弹系统以及两组八面对空导弹发射器后，华还批判美国肆意夸大南海军事化。

　　"The US is misusing the concept. The deployment of defense facilities on China’s own territory is no different from what the US does in Hawaii."
　　“美国理解有偏差。在中国自己的领土上部署防御设备和美国在夏威夷做同样的事情一样。”

　　The US, which has sent military ships and planes to areas in the South China Sea to conduct close-in reconnaissance, is the source of tensions and militarization in the South China Sea, Hua said, but China’s construction on its own islands is for civilian purposes, and the deployment of limited defense measures has nothing to do with "militarization," she added.
　　华说，美国在中国南海海域派遣军用船只和飞机以实行近距离勘察，这是南海紧张局面和军事化的根源。但是，中国在自己的领土上修建防御系统是出于民用目的，有限的防御设施部署和“军事化”无关。
