Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi is on a two-day official visit to Laos. He met with both the president and prime minister on Sunday and held talks with the country’s foreign minister. The two countries pledged to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges.

Laotian President Bounnhang Vorachit, who is also general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, said the relations between the two countries and the two parties are currently at their best levels. Exchanges at various levels and from different sectors have been frequent and close between the two sides.

老挝人民革命党中央委员会总书记本扬.沃拉吉说：“中老两国和两党的关系目前处于最好的状态，双方在各个层面、不同领域交流频繁、关系密切。”

Bounnhang said he is willing to attend the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation to be held in China next year.

本扬.沃拉吉表示：“他愿意参加明年在中国举行的第二届“一带一路”国际合作高峰论坛。”

The Lao leader also expressed gratitude for the generous assistance that China has granted for Laos, saying the Lao side highly values the building of the China-Laos railway and more Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest in Laos.

老挝领导人本扬.沃拉吉对中方给予老挝的慷慨援助表示感谢并表示：“老挝高度重视中老铁路建设，欢迎更多中国企业到老挝投资兴业。”

Wang said China and Laos have been keeping frequent exchanges of visits and strategic communication at the highest level, providing important guidance for the development of relations between the two countries and the two parties.

王毅说：“中老两国高层保持着频繁的互访和战略交流，为两国和两党关系的发展提供了重要指导。”

The year 2019 will mark the 10th anniversary of developing the China-Laos comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, said Wang, adding China will make joint efforts with Laos to implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries and comprehensively carry forward bilateral cooperation in all fields.

王毅说：“2019年是中老全面战略合作伙伴关系发展10周年，中方愿同老方一道，落实两国领导人达成的重要共识，全面推进两国全方位的合作。”
